Is it difficult for you to believe that you are a new creation since you have been born again? Is it easier to believe that other people are new creations? For many, the answer will be yes on both questions. Why?
There are many possible reasons for the unbelief; is it nothing but unbelief after all. When the Bible makes a statement that you do not think is applicable to you too, it’s unbelief. The first possible reason for the unbelief is that you do not feel worthy. Deep down inside of you there is a little voice that tells you that other people deserve the grace of God, but not you. That little voice tells you that God will change them but He won’t bother with you. The little voice blows up your bad characteristics and make it seem impossible to change. That little voice belongs to satan. Don’t listen to it for one second longer. Instead, add another verse to your arsenal and think on that instead.
For God shows no partiality [undue favor or unfairness; with Him one man is not different from another]. (Romans 2:11 AMP)
God knows you. He knows every fibre of your being. He knows every thought you will have even before you think it. He knows what you have done, what you are doing and what you are planning to do. He knows every good characteristic you have and every bad characteristic. He knows your good points and your bad points. And guess what? He loves you. You are right, you don’t deserve His grace. Nobody does. That is why it is called grace; we receive it so undeserved!
There is not one man on the face of this earth who deserve to be made new more than you do. We are all equal before God.
If you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life, you ARE a new creation. God did it. ALREADY. For you. Yes YOU!
