Trust in the Lord

Standard

Today’s blog follows on yesterday’s.  So if you haven’t read the previous post, read that before you read this one.

The topic of discussion is asking God to steer us through difficult decisions.  Instead of praying fervently for some specific outcome, we should rather pray to God that His will be done and ask that He will clearly show us what His will is.  Sounds easy doesn’t it?  Often times it is not!

If you give something to God, leave it there.  That’s the difficult part.  To relax in His peace and just let it be – that’s not so easy.  We as humans want to be in control of our own lives.  We proclaim that God is in control, but is He really?  Do we really allow Him to steer us?  Do we really follow where He leads?

Proverbs 3:4-6 says:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him and He will make your paths straight. (NIV)

If you have asked God to show you the way, then follow the way.  If you turn around and doubt, you are clearly saying to God that you actually don’t trust His judgment and plans for your life.  Can a person be so stupid?  Oh yes!  We all have done that at some time or another.

We have to trust with ALL our heart and forget about our own opinions.  We have to submit in ALL our ways so that He can straighten the paths ahead of us.  He sees the big picture, we see a tiny piece of reality.

Psalm 35:5-6 says:
God’s love is meteoric,
His loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
His verdicts oceanic.
Yet in His largeness, nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.
(The Message)

God is bigger than we can ever comprehend.  David here tried to proclaim the greatness of God in a few words!

God will never steer us in the wrong direction.  He will never let us slip through a crack!  If we trust in Him with everything we have, and follow where He leads, we will always be in His will.  We will always be blessed.  We will always succeed.
